The PTI Heritage

Paper Transport has a history of innovation. It can be traced back to 1973 when one of the founders was operating a private fleet for a respected paper company. In this private fleet, he developed one of the country's first just-in-time service networks. The supply chain was capable of delivering product anywhere in the 48 states within 24-hours of having an order placed.

From his private fleet, one of the first collaborative fleets was formed. They were co-loading heavy and light product to max out the gross weight and volume available on the trailers. Production facilities were relocated to optimize distribution and service. The mindset was all about servicing the customer.

In 1990, Paper Transport was formally put to work as a dedicated fleet by one of the country's largest paper manufacturers. Started by that fleet manager and a driver, the “get it done for the customer” attitude became the culture of Paper Transport. While the company now operates over 200 power units, we still move freight like it's our own. People are empowered to make decisions that help our customers.

We continue dedicated and one-way service to that first customer. Throughout our years of service, Paper Transport has been their "Carrier of the Year" eight times.
