PTI Exceeds 5 million Natural Gas Miles

GREEN BAY, WI – Paper Transport has displaced more than 1,000,000 gallons of diesel fuel through their use of compressed natural gas to power their trucks.  As of the end of 2013, 1,365,393 diesel gallon equivalents of natural gas have been purchased for use in their fleets.

The natural gas trucks are being used to fuel local and regional tractors.  The longest trips completed to date stretch from OH to LA.  The round trip totals over 2,000 miles.  Jeff Shefchik, president of Paper Transport note, “Most of the trucks operate on loads under 250 miles, but we take great pride in stretching the capability of natural gas trucks.”

According to the Natural Gas Vehicles for America, natural gas vehicles provide the following benefits: reduced costs, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, petroleum displacement, and building American infrastructure.

Paper Transport, headquartered in Green Bay, WI, currently operates 400 power-units, with a focus on regional truckload service, dedicated operations and intermodal service.  They operate terminals in Dayton OH, Chicago IL, Green Bay WI, Jacksonville FL, Muskogee OK and Albany, GA.
