Our History
Paper Transport was founded because of a casual conversation between two friends, Lennie Shefchik and Roger Grimsely, during their weekly cribbage game. Typically reserved as a way for them and their wives, Joan and Amy, to unwind and have some fun, this particular card game turned into something much, much more. That something was the discovery of their entrepreneurial spirit, laying the foundation for the beginning of Paper Transport.
In February of 1990, that foundation turned into an official trucking company when the first loads were pulled out of the Green Bay, WI area. Very quickly, Paper Transport earned a solid reputation.
From 1990 to 2001, Paper Transport became a niche service provider for one of America’s largest shippers. The individual attention they paid to their customers, along with a knack for innovation, further set PTI apart from their competitors.
Since 2009, Paper Transport has rallied around a strategy of growth and innovation in order to aggressively diversify through additional customers product lines. The company has grown from to over 875 trucks and 3,000 trailers today.
