PTI Exceeds 5 million Natural Gas Miles

GREEN BAY, WI – Paper Transport has displaced more than 1,000,000 gallons of diesel fuel through their use of compressed natural gas to power their trucks.  As of the end of 2013, 1,365,393 diesel gallon equivalents of natural gas have been purchased for use in their fleets.

PTI Anchors second CNG Station in Green Bay

Green Bay, WI - Trillium CNG has debuted a new compressed natural gas (CNG) station at 1121 Radission St. in Green Bay, Wis., co-located with the Bay Beach Shell station.  

The company says heavy-duty carriers Paper Transport Inc. and Contract Transport Services will be the anchor fleets for the station, which can accommodate Class 8 semi-trucks with 53-foot trailers. The public-access site has two CNG dispensers that draw from a propriety “hydraulic intensifier” technology from Trillium that enables fueling speeds of up to 10 DGE/minute.

”We continue to expand our CNG station network across the U.S. and are pleased to be providing additional access to CNG and its environmental and economic benefits in the Green Bay area,” says Mary Boettcher, president of Trillium CNG.

The company has another CNG station in Brown County, located in De Pere, Wis. That facility opened last year.

Green Bay Chamber of Commerce Announces Business Nominees

Green Bay, WI - Nine businesses were nominated for the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s Excellence in Business Award.

They are AT&T, Bank First National, Humana Inc., KI, PAi, Paper Transport Inc., Schenck, UnitedHealthcare and VOS Electric Inc.

The award will be announced during the chamber’s annual meeting Oct. 7 at the KI Convention Center, 333 Main St.
The 27th annual award is sponsored by Advance , the economic development division of the chamber.

PTI receives Great West Platinum Safety Award

Green Bay, WI – PTI was presented with a PLATINUM award by Great West Casualty Company as part of the 2012 National Safety Awards Program.

PTI has always practiced the philosophy that safety is a key component in running a successful business. The National Safety Awards Program recognizes carriers based on their year-end preventable accident results. Awards range from PLATINUM, GOLD, SILVER AND PARTICIPATORY. Over 750 carriers participated in the 2012 program.

PTI Talks Natural Gas At Chicago Board of Trade Conference

PTI and Integrys Transportation teaming up to build a CNG fueling station in De Pere, WI

DE PERE — Paper Transport Inc. of Ashwaubenon and Integrys Transportation Fuels Inc. are building a compressed natural gas fueling station in De Pere.

The companies formed a joint venture, called TrilliumHD, which plans to open two or three compressed natural gas stations in 2012.

Integrys owns about 50 CNG fueling stations, which it got through acquisition. They are in California, in Texas and on the East Coast. The De Pere station is the first it is building.

Paper Transport Running Prototype CNG Equipment

GREEN BAY, WI – Paper Transport, Inc. has begun testing prototype compressed natural gas (CNG) equipment.  Specifically, PTI has put into service two tractors with 12-liter CNG engines. 

These two engines produced by Cummins are among a small group of prototypes currently in use.  One engine is in a Kenworth truck and the other in a Freightliner.  Jeff Shefchik, president of Paper Transport says “The 12-liter CNG trucks are an important step forward for us as we look toward more wide spread use of natural gas as a fuel for our trucks.”
