Matt Moore is a great asset to Paper Transport’s work culture and an exemplary example of a Paper Transport driver. On January 22, 2022, Moore was presented with the 2021 Driver of the Year award at Paper Transport’s Headquarters in De Pere, WI. Moore has been a driver for Paper Transport’s home daily fleet in Ohio for eight years. He has 40 years of trucking under his belt.
A Strong Team
Employees everywhere have the question posed to them – Why do you like working here? For many Paper Transport employees, they would say the people. The people make the culture at Paper Transport an undeniably strong team.
After receiving the award, Moore shared, “I like the people I work with, I like the people in the office and the drivers, I like the customers, and I like the job.” Also Proctor & Gamble’s 2021 Driver of the Year recipient, Moore was chosen out of thousands of drivers to receive these awards due to his outstanding service, care for their trucks, safety, and fuel conservation.
Top-Notch Performance
By looking at his perfect driver score, Moore did everything right. Cory Helmle, Midwest Operations Manager at Paper Transport, shared, “he always completed his pre and post-trip inspections, has had no sudden breaks, and obeyed speed limits.”
Jackie Feaker, Senior Driver Manager at Paper Transport, communicates with Moore every day. She shared that he is “really easy to work with and communicates well.” One thing about Moore that stands out to Feaker is his praise for other Paper Transport drivers. “Matt is one of our mentors and always finds time to help our new drivers. For instance, Matt lets me know when he sees another driver doing something good so they get recognition as well.”
Culture and Values
Moore shows care in his job and tasks by aligning himself with the culture and philosophies for which Paper Transport stands. He takes pride in working at Paper Transport. “This is the best company I have worked for. It is easy to get along with the drivers and the managers. They provide feedback and listen to what you have to say. I can come to the De Pere office and talk to anybody.”
Ben Schill, Chief Executive Officer of Paper Transport, shares why Paper Transport is extremely proud to have Moore on the team. “Matt exemplifies all of the great qualities that you could ask for in a teammate,” Schill said. “During 2021, Matt had perfect scores month after month to lock in the top spot and earn the Paper Transport Driver of the Year award. He is an absolute professional and Paper Transport is blessed to have him on our team.”
