Why Should You Consider a Logistics Career?

Professional driving is a key role in the transportation industry, but it is only one part of the puzzle. Logistics is one of the most important fields in the transportation industry. From sales, to customer relationships, to driver relationships, to tracking trailers and trucks, a logistics career is something to consider for people who like to grind, win, and have a fast paced work day.

Career Paths

Below are the career paths one might choose when considering a logistics role. In a logistics career, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of goods across the country. You will work to plan and execute shipments, monitor deliveries, and resolve any issues that arise.

Carrier Sales Representative

A successful Carrier Rep is a hard charging problem solver, who has an entrepreneurial spirit and is self-motivated to build business and make money. You will find new carriers while managing your existing carrier portfolio for Paper Transport customers, negotiate service and rates, and drive results on a daily basis. Outside-the-box thinkers who aren’t afraid of working hard to get results are who we want.

This is a fast-paced, high-energy role that you’ll make an impact on the North American supply chain every day. From your first day, you’ll learn to negotiate with carriers and start making decisions, and you will become a market maker for regional transportation markets. Colleagues will promote your accomplishments and lean on your expertise. You will be surrounded by a supportive team of peers and leaders that will support and mentor you through your development.
