Kenworth T680 Next Gen Trucks

Since 2010, Paper Transport has invested in CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fuel. Paper Transport will refresh its CNG fleet with 11 of the brand new 2023 Kenworth T680 Next Gen Sleeper trucks. These trucks are paired with Cummin’s Westport ISX12N CNG engine product and Eaton Endurant Transmission.

Kenworth T680 Next Gen Trucks Reducing Emissions

“We expect these trucks to perform as well as diesel alternatives,” shared Patrick Gray, Paper Transport’s Midwest Regional Maintenance Manager. “Resulting in near-zero NOx outputs from the tailpipe.”

As one of the first carriers in the U.S. to add CNG trucks, Paper Transport was the first carrier to invest outside of California. The current Cummins engine sleeper trucks have yielded engines in the fleet with the most miles driven and a great option for customers to reduce emissions.

More Miles for Drivers

“For our drivers, we expect the 2023 Kenworth T680 Next Gen trucks to vastly outperform existing CNG trucks resulting in increased fuel economy, longer range, and less down-time,” continued Gray.

CNG fuel has less of an environmental impact compared to diesel fuel (including impacts from spillage). Nor does CNG give the lingering smell like that of diesel fuel. Economically, CNG has proven to save drivers and customers money, especially when relying on a domestic fuel source. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, a CNG-powered vehicle gets the same fuel economy as a standard gasoline-powered vehicle. A gasoline gallon equals approximately 5.66 pounds of CNG.
